Havasupai Falls
yes, the water is actually that blue. This place and Banff are the only places I have seen the water truly be so blue. it's AMAZING.
We finally got permits this year to hike to Havasupai! Something we've been trying to do for a few years now. It's a little over a 10 mile hike in, but clearly so worth it. However, this trip was only 3 days, and much of that time was nowhere near perfect haha. To make a long story short, I wore new shoes and had a lot of blisters, so I was pretty over hiking on day one. Not a good thing when the plan for every day is to hike to water falls, and then still hike the 10+ miles out. Carrying backpacks with every single thing you need for the duration of the trip for the long hike did not make it easier. The first time we left our camp, we came back to holy bags that got eaten by squirrels. Those squirrels are RELENTLESS. They ate through and destroyed my mom's hiking bag, ate her and Khloee's entire supply of food, chewed down our clothes line, ate half of Kelsee's flip flop, and never gave up. RELENTLESS. I am proud to say that my bag stayed untouched until the very last night.
So, it was no smooth sailing. But yes, I would still say it was very worth it. I mean look at it. Would I do it every single month? probably not. Will I helicopter in and out next time? definitely.
